Sugar Cookie Recipe

1  cup of unsalted butter (close to room temp)

1  cup of granulated sugar

1 egg

1 tablespoon of vanilla

2 teaspoons vanilla bean paste

3 cups of flour

½ teaspoon of baking powder

½ teaspoon of salt


Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Blend together butter and sugar. Add in eggs and flavoring, but be sure to not overmix. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder and salt. Add flour mixture to butter on low speed until combined and not sticking to the side of the bowl. Roll out your dough and cover with saran wrap to chill in the fridge. After a couple hours you can cut your dough. Bake for 10-13 minutes. 

Kitchens Cookies Royal Icing


Start with 2lbs of powdered sugar in the mixer. Add in ½ cup of water, 1/4 cup of corn syrup, and 1 tablespoon of clear vanilla. Once creamy, set aside.

Royal icing

Mix 4 lbs. Powdered sugar and ⅔ cup meringue powder.

Add in 1 cup warm water. Once it starts coming together add flavoring. (2 tablespoons clear vanilla) After combined, turn up the mixer to medium high for about 2 minutes until icing is thick.

Add glaze to the royal and mix on medium for about a minute.
